The Welsh People, like those of China, have long been proud of their heritage; many of the Welsh nobles were able to trace their ancestry back over 2,000 years to the time of Roman Britain. (It was not unknown for the Welsh Nobility to taunt their English counterparts from time to time in the past since the English Nobility had a much shorter lineage, having to a large extent been established and allocated lands by William The Conqueror (William I) and were originally Norman French rather than English, (today most of the rivalry between the Welsh and the English is kept to the sportsfield).
